Shetye Family – Core of Savoi Plantations

The plantation was founded by Mr. Shetye and is still being run by the family.

We’ve been in existence since 1819

A place recommended by many travel writers, this pioneering eco-tourism spot lies 15 km away from Ponda the cultural Captial of Goa.

Situated in the village of Savoi this intercrop plantation – kulagar is now 200 years old, covers an area of 100 acres, has a terraced field valley and it’s base a large placid pond.

Pepper, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Vanilla, Jackfruit, Pineapple, Cashew nuts, Mango, Love Apple, Banana, Custard Apple, Guava & Bettle Nut etc are cultivated around the year.

Study Tours

This place is for students to learn and have fun. Students can learn how we cultivate the vegetables and fruits and can spend a good time around in Savoi Plantation.

We also give discounts for study tours and NGO’s

Guests are greeted with the traditional welcome and escorted to the shacks where they can unwind in a true rustic village ambiance. Later assigned by a local expert, guests are given a walking tour in the world of spices, medical plants & tropical fruits. On return, the guests are treated with homemade traditional Goan Saraswat Buffet served in mud pots and banana leaf plates at Sadauli Restaurant.

For Cooking enthusiasts, we do conduct cooking classes on Traditional Goan Saraswat Cuisine (Veg & Non-Veg), but with prior bookings only.
